ABOUT THE CLASSES:

They are for men, women, & children ages 6 and up. NOTE: For children 4 & 5 years old ask about our "Karate Shadow" program they might be able to participate in.Click Here for information about the Shadow Program

LOCATION: SEO CHEER & TUMBLE CENTER, 2575 Olde Falls Rd., Zanesville, Ohio. Phone: 453-KICK, 683-KICK or 450-4105.

DAY & TIME: Mondays 7:15pm - 8:45pm and the 1st and 3rd Saturday 10am - 12noon each month (Unless otherwise scheduled due to holidays etc..check caledar page for current information). Plan to arrive around 7:10 to start promptly at 7:15. Please do not arrive to early due to parking arrangements with the class prior to ours.

Any person thinking of taking classes is encouraged to watch a class before actually begining classes, this allows the potential student to see how the class is run and makes the first class a little less intimidating. There is no charge for watching a class. (Ask Master Hardwick about a free class if interested)

PLEASE NOTE:We are a "Karate Club" and reserve the right to admit students to train with us. If a student has disciplinary problems or we feel they are simple not able to perform the techniques and/or become a hinderence to our instructors or become a distration to our program we will ask them to leave and they will not be permitted back to our school.

CLOTHING:

Karate Attire for class. We have always tried to maintain a martial arts traditional style with our attire. That being a tradition Martial Arts Uniform (Ghi) for all students approaching first promotion and solid color shirts and pants for beginners. This protocol has always been in effect at our club but I have not enforced it very well lately. I have started to see too many wild, slightly offensive and distracting logos, imprints and colors on some shirts so I thought I better start enforcing this again.

The following is the guidelines we will adhere to:

SOLID COLOR "PLAIN", T-SHIRTS: Black or White only (No tank tops or sleeveless shirts for class. However you are allowed to wear tank tops and sleeveless shirts for sparring but must bring another shirt to change into after sparring session is completed). Only logos permitted on shirts would be small sports logo such as Nike, Adidas, or our club logo (Karate club t-shirts are available for $10.00 from Master Hardwick). NO IMPRINTS ON SHIRTS PLEASE!!! SOLID COLOR "PLAIN" SWEAT PANTS OR WORK OUT PANTS- Black or white only and no shorts please. T-shirts with club name & logo on them are available for $10.00 and can be worn at any time. Students will be required to purchase a uniform & protective equipment before their first promotion. They can order this from the club at discount price when time comes.

COST: (If Paying by check-please make payable to Jeff Hardwick)

REGISTRATION FEE: All new students are required to pay a $30.00 registration fee for one (Includes first class). DOWNLOAD REGISTRATION FORM & WAIVER:(Print , fill out & bring to class & you'll be all set to begin)

Family of 3 or more $70.00. This is a one-time fee as long as the student stays active. If they would become inactive for one year they would have to re-register.

PER SESSION: $5.00 for one session.

PAY IN ADVANCE: $45 for 10 classes (Savings of $5.00 or one free class) NOTE: When students pay in advance they receive credits & credits are deducted when you come to class. You do not pay for classes not attended.

PRIVATE LESSONS: Available at $30.00 per hour and then $5.00 for every 15 minutes after. (Must be scheduled with instructor / Group Discounts Available)

Promotions:

Are based on a percentage of classes attended and knowledge accumlated during a specified length of time. Therefore depending on the individual student and their class participation, time periods between promotions may vary from student to student. However the minimum time to reach the rank of black belt is 4 years. PLEASE NOTE: There is a $25.00 fee for promotions in addition to class fees other than Black Belt Promotion Fee which is $50.00. PLEASE NOTE: PROMOTIONS ARE BASED ON A PERCENTAGE OF CLASSES ATTENDED & KNOWLEDGE ACCUMULATED DURING A SPECIFIC LENGTH OF TIME. THEREFOR DEPENDING ON THE INDIVIDUAL STUDENT & THEIR PARTICIPATION, TIME PERIODS BETWEEN PROMOTIONS WILL VARY FROM STUDENT TO STUDENT.Our Belt ranking stystem is as follows with an approximate time frame for promotions. - white (novice/beginner), yellow (approx. 3-6 months), orange, green (approx 12 - 24 months), blue, purple, brown (2-3 yrs), brown with one stripe, brown with two stripes, Black Belt (Approx. 4 years+)
